Abstract

This paper presents a novel computational model approximation-based model for organic photovoltaic (OPV) modules made using three different electrode technologies. The model is able to reproduce the electrical characteristics of the cells accurately, thus facilitating the assessment of the impact of these devices in power grid applications. Outdoor measurement data and analytical I-V and P-V curves obtained with the model are compared with outdoor test data, together with key parameters. The experimental and simulation results match very closely, with a maximum error of 4% indicating, demonstrating the validity of the model for outdoor data.
